Have you ever paid attention in architecture of your country? Recently I’ve visited the Pyrenees area in Catalonia and I’ve felt a great sadness. I find a lot of houses and buildings which are all equals. It’s horrible.However I found a lot of cottages in ruins….why? There are a lot of houses that not are simple buildings. In a house we can find a lot of history witch allow us to read a lot of feelings. Each stone has its own history.The new way of building is forgetting that architecture is art too and only thinks in money. The people don’t know that they are broking the history of things. Important items that we have to value are the materials which shape walls or roofs. In old buildings, we can observe materials which have been found around the area, stone, wood and whitewash. These buildings’ materials were according with the countryside, according with the colours, according with the weather… . However, now, we can find horrible houses which replays “city style“ in a landscape of mountain. In my visit I could see lovely mansions in ruins. I cannot understand why any person doesn’t give an opportunity to these old stones. In my opinion, we have to pay more attention in this fact. We cannot forget our history, because we are going to arrive a moment that we will able to difference if we are in a mountain area o near the sea.
THE POWER LINES We have millions of lines around us , natural lines, and organic circles, deep ellipses … but not all people stop a minute to look at them. Is Art an expression of these? Yes it is, - I believe. We can find a lot of art around us. I don’t know if you’ve given yourself a minute to look around you. We can observe the line that starts in your finger and it ends in your shoulder. Is it not fantastic? It’s art too. A lot of people can’t understand the contemporary movement of art, however if you don’t look around you and you submerge inside the expression, lines take an important role. So, follow them and you could find a lot of feelings. When I find an artist that picks up the normal lines and he symbolizes it in a sculpture, I can feel a deep impression on me. When an artist creates a sculpture or a picture, I can see his vision lines around him. Then we can see the landscapes, things or lines that there are in his life. So, I invite all people to take a pencil and try to follow their shade on a piece of paper, or take a stone and look at its lines As you can see, I’m an observer person who likes the geometry of things a lot. When I saw Henry Moore the previous Friday, I could feel a great pleasure because he was capable to show us the power of lines.
